Mobile Solutions For the Enterprise
Highland applies advanced security capabilities and a comprehensive wireless solution for managing an organizations email, phone, text messaging, organizer, and Internet/ Intranet applications.
Highland’s capabilities in implementing and supporting wireless communication services are extensive. Highland has established and currently supports wireless services for its customers. The service includes extensive support for Research in Motion’s (RIM) Blackberry Enterprise server for the Blackberry handheld systems, and for mobile devices with other operating systems such as Apple, Android, and Microsoft. We have developed, deployed and support special interfaces for such devices as well, including the ability to effect records dispositions for electronic records systems of e-mail in real-time, from the handheld device, a unique capability unavailable anywhere else.
Highland develops and implements Blackberry technology solutions to help clients meet the needs for portability, flexibility, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. Highland has developed wireless applications for Blackberry such as:
- Emergency Contacts: selected organizational contact information pushed to the mobile devices, to be used in an emergency
-
FedRecord: categorization of email sent from mobile devices, as a Federal record

- Contingency Operation Plan of Action (COPOA): a secure folder pushed out to users’ mobile devices, containing an organization’s Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) and its Emergency Operations Procedure (EOP).
We recently introduced an automated Managed Service to provide customers better management and control of cellular and wireless devices; and related expenses. The service downloads the monthly bills from service providers (Verizon, AT&T, etc.) into a database. From this the system then provides a web based dashboard analysis and reporting system (by time frame, organization, customer, etc.) which gives summaries and details regarding: the volume and detailed costs of services delivered; allocation details for both voice and data, down to the specific call and text message; and, exceptions to established wireless plans spanning billings, service usage, rate validation, and workflow processes. This level of control allows customers to pay a fixed cost per device for wireless service delivery at a lower cost than they are now incurring.
